openjdk-6-demo software package provides Java runtime based on OpenJDK (demos and examples), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-demo
openjdk-6-demo is installed in your system.
Make ensure the openjdk-6-demo package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep openjdk-6-demo *
You will get with openjdk-6-demo package name, version, architecture and description in a table
