openexr software package provides command-line tools and docs for the OpenEXR image format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install openexr
openexr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the openexr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep openexr *
You will get with openexr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
