open-jtalk software package provides Japanese text-to-speech system, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install open-jtalk
open-jtalk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the open-jtalk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep open-jtalk *
You will get with open-jtalk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
