octave-nan software package provides handles data with and without missing values in Octave, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install octave-nan
octave-nan is installed in your system.
Make ensure the octave-nan package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep octave-nan *
You will get with octave-nan package name, version, architecture and description in a table
