octave-missing-functions software package provides finds functions that are in Matlab but not in Octave, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install octave-missing-functions
octave-missing-functions is installed in your system.
Make ensure the octave-missing-functions package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep octave-missing-functions *
You will get with octave-missing-functions package name, version, architecture and description in a table
