nvidia-settings software package provides Tool for configuring the NVIDIA graphics driver, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings
nvidia-settings is installed in your system.
Make ensure the nvidia-settings package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep nvidia-settings *
You will get with nvidia-settings package name, version, architecture and description in a table
