ntp software package provides Network Time Protocol daemon and utility programs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ntp
ntp is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ntp package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ntp *
You will get with ntp package name, version, architecture and description in a table
