How to Install netcat software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

netcat software package provides TCP/IP swiss army knife -- transitional package, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install netcat

netcat is installed in your system.

Make ensure the netcat package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep netcat *

You will get with netcat package name, version, architecture and description in a table
