ncbi-seg software package provides tool to mask segments of low compositional complexity in amino acid sequences, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ncbi-seg
ncbi-seg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ncbi-seg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ncbi-seg *
You will get with ncbi-seg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
