mythtv-transcode-utils software package provides Utilities used for transcoding MythTV tasks, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mythtv-transcode-utils
mythtv-transcode-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mythtv-transcode-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mythtv-transcode-utils *
You will get with mythtv-transcode-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
