multimedia-midi software package provides MIDI related packages, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install multimedia-midi
multimedia-midi is installed in your system.
Make ensure the multimedia-midi package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep multimedia-midi *
You will get with multimedia-midi package name, version, architecture and description in a table
