multiarch-support software package provides Transitional package to ensure multiarch compatibility, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install multiarch-support
multiarch-support is installed in your system.
Make ensure the multiarch-support package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep multiarch-support *
You will get with multiarch-support package name, version, architecture and description in a table
