mpt-status software package provides get RAID status out of mpt (and other) HW RAID controllers, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mpt-status
mpt-status is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mpt-status package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mpt-status *
You will get with mpt-status package name, version, architecture and description in a table
