mpglen software package provides scan through a MPEG file and count the number of GOPs and frames, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mpglen
mpglen is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mpglen package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mpglen *
You will get with mpglen package name, version, architecture and description in a table
