mpdcron software package provides add scrobbler, rating, play counts and other functionalities to MPD, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mpdcron
mpdcron is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mpdcron package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mpdcron *
You will get with mpdcron package name, version, architecture and description in a table
