mosquitto software package provides MQTT version 3.1 compatible message broker, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mosquitto
mosquitto is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mosquitto package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mosquitto *
You will get with mosquitto package name, version, architecture and description in a table
