mono-tools-devel software package provides Various development tools for mono, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mono-tools-devel
mono-tools-devel is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mono-tools-devel package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mono-tools-devel *
You will get with mono-tools-devel package name, version, architecture and description in a table
