memtester software package provides Utility for testing the memory subsystem, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install memtester
memtester is installed in your system.
Make ensure the memtester package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep memtester *
You will get with memtester package name, version, architecture and description in a table
