How to Install magit software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

magit software package provides Emacs interface for Git, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install magit

magit is installed in your system.

Make ensure the magit package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep magit *

You will get with magit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
