lynis software package provides security auditing tool for Unix based systems, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lynis
lynis is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lynis package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lynis *
You will get with lynis package name, version, architecture and description in a table
