lxkeymap software package provides Application that allows to easily switch between keyboard layouts, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lxkeymap
lxkeymap is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lxkeymap package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lxkeymap *
You will get with lxkeymap package name, version, architecture and description in a table
