logcheck software package provides mails anomalies in the system logfiles to the administrator, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install logcheck
logcheck is installed in your system.
Make ensure the logcheck package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep logcheck *
You will get with logcheck package name, version, architecture and description in a table
