How to uninstall or remove linux-headers-3.13.0-96 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed linux-headers-3.13.0-96 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-3.13.0-96

Uninstall linux-headers-3.13.0-96 including dependent package

If you would like to remove linux-headers-3.13.0-96 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove linux-headers-3.13.0-96

Use Purging linux-headers-3.13.0-96

If you use with purge options to linux-headers-3.13.0-96 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge linux-headers-3.13.0-96

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove linux-headers-3.13.0-96
