libxxf86vm-dev software package provides X11 XFree86 video mode extension library (development headers), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxxf86vm-dev
libxxf86vm-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxxf86vm-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxxf86vm-dev *
You will get with libxxf86vm-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
