libxml2-dev software package provides Development files for the GNOME XML library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxml2-dev
libxml2-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxml2-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxml2-dev *
You will get with libxml2-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
