libvdpau1 software package provides Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix (libraries), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libvdpau1
libvdpau1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libvdpau1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libvdpau1 *
You will get with libvdpau1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
