libunicap2 software package provides unified interface to video capture devices - shared libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libunicap2
libunicap2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libunicap2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libunicap2 *
You will get with libunicap2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
