libsystemd-journal-dev software package provides systemd journal utility library - development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsystemd-journal-dev
libsystemd-journal-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsystemd-journal-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsystemd-journal-dev *
You will get with libsystemd-journal-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
