libsuitesparse-metis-3.1.0 software package provides collection of libraries for computations for sparse matrices, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsuitesparse-metis-3.1.0
libsuitesparse-metis-3.1.0 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsuitesparse-metis-3.1.0 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsuitesparse-metis-3.1.0 *
