How to uninstall or remove libssl1.0.0 software package from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libssl1.0.0 package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libssl1.0.0 

Uninstall libssl1.0.0 including dependent package

If you would like to remove libssl1.0.0 and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libssl1.0.0 
Use Purging libssl1.0.0

If you use with purge options to libssl1.0.0 package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libssl1.0.0 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libssl1.0.0
