libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl software package provides Perl extension for reading MS Excel 2007 files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl
libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl *
You will get with libspreadsheet-xlsx-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
