libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl software package provides module to create Excel spreadsheets, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl
libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl*
You will get with libspreadsheet-writeexcel-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
