libsphinxbase-dev software package provides Sphinx base libraries - development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsphinxbase-dev
libsphinxbase-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsphinxbase-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsphinxbase-dev *
You will get with libsphinxbase-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
