libsilo-dev software package provides Development files for SILO Scientific I/O library from LLNL, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsilo-dev
libsilo-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsilo-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsilo-dev *
You will get with libsilo-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
