libquicktime2 software package provides library for reading and writing Quicktime files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libquicktime2
libquicktime2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libquicktime2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libquicktime2 *
You will get with libquicktime2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
