libpython-dbg software package provides debug build of the Python Interpreter (version 2.7), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpython-dbg
libpython-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpython-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpython-dbg *
You will get with libpython-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
