libpth-dev software package provides GNU Portable Threads (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpth-dev
libpth-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpth-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpth-dev *
You will get with libpth-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
