libproc-simple-perl software package provides Perl interface to launch and control background processes, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libproc-simple-perl
libproc-simple-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libproc-simple-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libproc-simple-perl *
You will get with libproc-simple-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
