libplymouth2 software package provides graphical boot animation and logger - shared libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libplymouth2
libplymouth2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libplymouth2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libplymouth2 *
You will get with libplymouth2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
