libpfm4-dev software package provides Development files for the libpfm4 library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpfm4-dev
libpfm4-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpfm4-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpfm4-dev *
You will get with libpfm4-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
