libparmetis-dev software package provides Parallel Graph Partitioning and Sparse Matrix Ordering Libs: Devel, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libparmetis-dev
libparmetis-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libparmetis-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libparmetis-dev *
You will get with libparmetis-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
