libpapi5.3 software package provides PAPI runtime (shared libraries), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpapi5.3
libpapi5.3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpapi5.3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpapi5.3 *
You will get with libpapi5.3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
