libopenmpi-dev software package provides high performance message passing library -- header files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libopenmpi-dev
libopenmpi-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libopenmpi-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libopenmpi-dev *
You will get with libopenmpi-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
