libnotify-doc software package provides sends desktop notifications to a notification daemon (Documentation), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnotify-doc
libnotify-doc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnotify-doc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnotify-doc *
You will get with libnotify-doc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
