libnifti-dev software package provides IO libraries for the NIfTI-1 data format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnifti-dev
libnifti-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnifti-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnifti-dev *
You will get with libnifti-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
