libnet-traceroute-pureperl-per software package provides traceroute(1) functionality in perl via raw sockets, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnet-traceroute-pureperl-per
libnet-traceroute-pureperl-per is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnet-traceroute-pureperl-per package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnet-traceroute-pureperl-per*
