You can uninstall or removes an installed libmlnlffi-smlnj package itself from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libmlnlffi-smlnj 

Uninstall libmlnlffi-smlnj including dependent package

If you would like to remove libmlnlffi-smlnj and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libmlnlffi-smlnj 
Use Purging libmlnlffi-smlnj

If you use with purge options to libmlnlffi-smlnj package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libmlnlffi-smlnj 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libmlnlffi-smlnj
