libmjpegtools-dev software package provides MJPEG capture/editing/replay and MPEG encoding toolset (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmjpegtools-dev
libmjpegtools-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmjpegtools-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmjpegtools-dev *
You will get with libmjpegtools-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
