libmetis-edf-dev software package provides Family of Multilevel Partitioning Algorithms, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmetis-edf-dev
libmetis-edf-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmetis-edf-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmetis-edf-dev *
You will get with libmetis-edf-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
