libmed-tools software package provides Runtime tools to handle MED files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmed-tools
libmed-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmed-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmed-tools *
You will get with libmed-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
